Few things to look @ Camera before it looks @ you:

"When u r purchasing an item having cost of 15K, at least one needs to do an inquiry of one week and in dozen shops"

Recently, i did shopping with some of my frens to purchase digital camera for one fren of mine. I went as i knew dat sometime i have to buy one cam for myself. I came to know many features of a cam. The first thing i came to know abt was : "When u r purchasing an item having cost of 15K, at least one needs to do an inquiry of one week and in dozen shops". If you don't do that, u r gonna lose some benifits of other existing cams. All that you can do is to compromise with the existing one.

The following are the basic features to look at for better looks to be produced from cam:

[caption id="attachment_185" align="alignright" width="221" caption="More u enquiry, better is the camera u will get."]More u enquiry, better is the camera u will get.[/caption]

Need:

-Know what for u r using cam. for business(Professional), Photography as hobby, Normal purpose.

Resolution:

-Expressed in Megapixel

-If you r proffessional go for higher resolution. If its for normal usage, 7 megapixel cam is better. Even 5 megapixel is sufficient.

-Disadvantage in taking higher megapixel cams is that every snap takes more memory thus causing less no of pics will fit in a given memory card.

- If you are normal cam user, my strong suggestion is don't go for higher resolution. 7 or 5 megapixel cam is enough.

Optical Zoom:

what i observed was optical zoom increases proportionally with the cost. Unless u r proffessional, its worth having just 4x optical zoom.No need to go beyond that.

- Dont confuse with digital zoom. It works just on inbuilt software.

HD (High definition):

High definition is a standard for resolutions of cameras. If you are snapping pics with HD cam, u can see those HD effects in comps/TVs provided those tvs/comps are having HD feature. If not, u no need to go for HD cams. But ingeneral, all cams available in market are of HD.

Screen size:

The bigger is the size of the screen, the better look it will get. Having screen with size of 3" is enough for normal user.

Memory stick:

In gernral, with the given batteries, u can take 200-250 phots at time. So, ur memory card size should be a product of resolution(megapixels) of cam and number of photos that can be snapped at a time with the given battery. Having a memory of morethan that is unnecessary.

Battery nature:

Always prefer Lithium based batteries than normal alkaline batteries. Lithium based battaries will add nice appearance than alkaline batteries.

Company & Brand:

This is completely subjective. One needs to do some inquiry about this. Either from frens or from sites like "amazon.com". You can find some personel openions of each and every product.

-Try to see the comparitive costs in nets before u come to conclusion about the costs and company.

Some other features: (make sure the following are there in ur cam)

- Red eye removal

-Carlziess lens

-Anti-blur solutions

-Image stabilisation

-Face detection

-Wide angle

As of now, for normal usage, if i have to buy, i would buy a cam of following configuration: 7Megapixel, 5x zoom,10x digital zoom, Li ion batteries, 3" inch screen size, 2 GB memory stick, red eye removal, image stabilisation, face detection, wide angle with anti blur solution. Brand is subjective to ones decision.
